Today we’ll discuss the importance of getting to know your customers as individuals and establishing contacts with them.

How are psychology and content marketing related?

If you have a chance to learn the basics of psychology, never neglect it. Due to this step, you’ll dive into the depths of marketing and understand how the client works and how he lives.

It’s no secret that people adhere to the rule of mutual exchange in their actions. What does it mean? I’m sure that sooner or later each of you felt an obligation or a desire to respond with a gift for a gift, a service for a service. This once again explains why we don't like to stay in debt.

Many companies use this method in their working strategy. They perfectly apply the rule “you are for me, I’m for you” to bring a person to a response word or deed. Do you think this is a good practice? Don't rush to conclusions. Buyers easily see hidden ads and attempts at manipulation. All this pushes them away and forces them to make a choice not in your favor.

How to act so as not to scare the consumer?

Don’t give useless promises or free flyers, but useful content that won’t contain a drop of advertising. These can be specific ways to solve problems, case studies, a guide to action and life hacks.

You’ve learned the basics of why marketing can’t survive without psychology. Next, you’ll make even more breakthrough discoveries and understand how to attract customers in addition to gifts and how to get an audience response. Subscribe to read more. You get a 14-day trial period for free.

Remember that gifts are one of the possible ways to attract attention, but not the only one. What else motivates people to develop? An example of another person. This confirms that the herd instinct is working. Don’t think that this tool has outlived its usefulness. If the client isn’t sure of his decision, he’ll want to know how the other person acted in his situation. To be successful, post reviews, ratings and mentions in the media on the website and on social networks. Do everything you can to prove your social importance and the effectiveness of your own content.

Why does audience activity matter?

Do you already have your own audience? Great, but you've only completed the task by 50%. To reach 100%, you need to make sure that subscribers are active. Believe me, it's not as easy as it seems.

However, I know how to make this process easier. Let me give you an example of a study that was conducted in 1963. The essence of the experiment was to observe the behavior of people depending on the information they were given. At Yale University, two groups of students received leaflets from doctors about the need to get a tetanus shot. The first group received a booklet that detailed the effects of tetanus. The second part saw booklets with additional information about the place, route and time of vaccination.

How many members of the first group do you think went to the doctors? Only 3%. At the same time, the second group exceeded this quantity by almost 10 times. What's the difference? Everything is simple. The additional information clearly explained what, where and when to do. A simple instruction helped to achieve the goal.

I recommend adding a call to action to each content unit. This will allow the audience to take the next step and not think about making a decision. Do you need comments? Ask a question at the end of the text: “Do you agree with this opinion?”

Combine calls depending on what goal you want to achieve. For example, offer to:

  • register or leave a request if you are sending a newsletter;

  • go to the website if you want to increase traffic;

  • subscribe to the profile;

  • use a promo code to receive bonuses.

I recommend using this knowledge in your projects to succeed and get one step closer to a breakthrough. Believe me, these simple steps can take you to a new level in the short term without large investments and global changes. Share your results of using content marketing in business!

We are taking a break for the winter holidays and will come back with new ideas on January 15th. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
